India's hotel investment market saw a significant 197% year-on-year surge in the first half of 2026, reaching $497 million in transaction volumes. Real estate developers were the primary investors, a shift from previous years where HNIs and private owners dominated. Tier-II and Tier-III cities attracted 60% of these investments, indicating a geographical rebalancing. Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code-led transactions were also a major driver, contributing $288 million. JLL India forecasts total transaction volumes to reach $1.1 billion by year-end.
