The Supreme Court has refused to immediately suspend Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, instead issuing a notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI). The court will examine records and seek the ECI's response regarding a petition challenging decisions made by the poll body and questioning the law governing it. The petitioner sought an immediate order to restrain Kumar, citing concerns about electoral process credibility. The bench also questioned the ECI's claim that a modified Form 6 was approved by the apex court, stating no such approval was given.
