Odisha MP Flags Paddy Lifting Delay, Seeks Centre’s Intervention Before Procurement Season

Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit has urged the Union government to intervene urgently regarding the delayed lifting of custom milled rice (CMR) in Odisha. He highlighted that poor coordination and excess rice stocks in godowns have slowed down the process, creating severe storage constraints. Purohit warned that if pending stocks are not cleared before the upcoming paddy procurement season begins on November 17, millers may face storage issues for new arrivals, adversely impacting farmers.

बर्गर से सांसद प्रदीप पुरोहित ने ओडिशा में कस्टम मिल्ड राइस (CMR) उठाने में हो रही देरी को लेकर केंद्र सरकार से तुरंत हस्तक्षेप करने की अपील की है। उन्होंने बताया कि खराब तालमेल और गोदामों में चावल के अतिरिक्त स्टॉक के कारण यह प्रक्रिया धीमी हो गई है, जिससे भंडारण की गंभीर समस्याएँ पैदा हो गई हैं। पुरोहित ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर 17 नवंबर को शुरू होने वाले धान खरीद सीजन से पहले लंबित स्टॉक को नहीं निकाला गया, तो मिल मालिकों को नए धान के भंडारण में दिक्कतें आ सकती हैं, जिसका किसानों पर बुरा असर पड़ेगा।
