आज़ाद समाज पार्टी के मुखिया चंद्रशेखर आज़ाद ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की गरीबी, शिक्षा और रोज़गार को लेकर कड़ी आलोचना की है। उन्होंने 12वीं कक्षा तक मुफ्त शिक्षा की मांग की और शिक्षा पर GDP का 10% खर्च करने का सुझाव दिया, साथ ही समान अवसरों पर ज़ोर दिया। आज़ाद ने महिलाओं की कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के लाभ में देरी, अपर्याप्त स्वास्थ्य सेवाएँ और भर्ती प्रक्रियाओं में कथित अनियमितताओं के कारण व्यापक युवा बेरोज़गारी पर भी चिंता जताई। उन्होंने राज्य में अमीर और गरीब के बीच बढ़ती खाई को उजागर किया।
