Times of India · world
Archaeologists in Egypt have discovered the remains of a 3,000-year-old horse buried within an ancient military fortress in the western Nile Delta. The medium-sized male horse, found with harness fragments, is believed to have been a chariot animal due to its ceremonial burial. This rare find offers insights into the military importance of horses during Egypt's New Kingdom period, around 1550-1070 B.C. The fortress itself was built to defend Egypt's western frontier against Libyan groups.
