Cyberstalking is Rising Due to Increased Technology Use, Says AP Women's Commission Chief

Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Chairperson Rayapati Sailaja stated that cyberstalking incidents are increasing significantly due to the widespread use of technology. She explained that actions like unwanted calls, messages, and misuse of personal information constitute stalking. Creating fake profiles using women's pictures and sending unsolicited gifts are also examples of this growing trend. Ms. Sailaja urged women to utilize helpline numbers 181, 112, and 1930 to report such incidents and ensure their safety.

आंध्र प्रदेश महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष रायपति शैलजा ने कहा कि टेक्नोलॉजी के व्यापक इस्तेमाल की वजह से साइबरस्टॉकिंग की घटनाओं में काफी बढ़ोतरी हो रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि अनचाही कॉल, मैसेज और निजी जानकारी का गलत इस्तेमाल जैसी हरकतें स्टॉकिंग कहलाती हैं। महिलाओं की तस्वीरों का इस्तेमाल करके फर्जी प्रोफाइल बनाना और बिना मांगे तोहफे भेजना भी इस बढ़ते चलन के उदाहरण हैं। सुश्री शैलजा ने महिलाओं से अपील की कि ऐसी घटनाओं की रिपोर्ट करने और अपनी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए हेल्पलाइन नंबर 181, 112 और 1930 का इस्तेमाल करें।
