Bihar Vigilance Bureau Arrests Two Officials For Taking Bribe

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) in Begusarai, Bihar, arrested an assistant commissioner and a data entry operator from the state commercial taxes department on Tuesday. The arrests were made on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The operation followed a complaint by a garment shop owner who alleged the officials demanded Rs 50,000 to settle a GST dues demand of Rs 3.84 lakh. The data entry operator was caught red-handed, and the bribe money was recovered after he attempted to discard it.

बिहार के बेगूसराय में विजिलेंस इन्वेस्टिगेशन ब्यूरो (VIB) ने मंगलवार को राज्य वाणिज्यिक कर विभाग के एक सहायक आयुक्त और एक डेटा एंट्री ऑपरेटर को गिरफ्तार किया। इन गिरफ्तारियों पर 25,000 रुपये की रिश्वत लेने का आरोप है। यह कार्रवाई एक गारमेंट दुकान के मालिक की शिकायत के बाद हुई, जिसने आरोप लगाया कि अधिकारियों ने 3.84 लाख रुपये के GST बकाया की मांग को निपटाने के लिए 50,000 रुपये मांगे थे। डेटा एंट्री ऑपरेटर को रंगे हाथों पकड़ा गया, और रिश्वत की रकम को फेंकने की कोशिश के बाद बरामद कर ली गई।
