Delhi Metro Stations Shut, Internet Suspended Ahead Of CEC Protest

Ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Delhi authorities have imposed significant restrictions. Forty-five metro stations have been closed, and mobile internet services have been suspended in central Delhi. The Delhi Police denied permission for the demonstration, which is organized by the Cockroach Janta Party and affiliated student groups, with support from farmers' organizations and the Aam Aadmi Party. Organizers described the measures as intimidation tactics by the authorities.

मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर जंतर मंतर पर होने वाले नियोजित विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले, दिल्ली के अधिकारियों ने महत्वपूर्ण प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं। 45 मेट्रो स्टेशनों को बंद कर दिया गया है, और मध्य दिल्ली में मोबाइल इंटरनेट सेवाएं निलंबित कर दी गई हैं। दिल्ली पुलिस ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी और संबद्ध छात्र समूहों द्वारा आयोजित, किसान संगठनों और आम आदमी पार्टी के समर्थन से होने वाले प्रदर्शन की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया है। आयोजकों ने इन उपायों को अधिकारियों द्वारा डराने-धमकाने की रणनीति बताया है।
