The Calcutta High Court has refused an urgent hearing to Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee's plea seeking a directive against police for allegedly facilitating "media trials". The plea was mentioned before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya after another judge declined to hear it. Justice Bhattacharyya stated that the matter would be taken up in the December list, dismissing pleas for urgency before the court's vacation. The judge observed that nothing further could be done before the vacation period ends.

कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट ने तृणमूल सांसद अभिषेक बनर्जी की उस याचिका पर तत्काल सुनवाई से इनकार कर दिया है जिसमें पुलिस को कथित तौर पर 'मीडिया ट्रायल' की सुविधा देने के खिलाफ निर्देश देने की मांग की गई थी। यह याचिका जस्टिस सौगत भट्टाचार्य के समक्ष उल्लेखित की गई थी, जब एक अन्य न्यायाधीश ने इसे सुनने से मना कर दिया था। जस्टिस भट्टाचार्य ने कहा कि मामले को दिसंबर की सूची में लिया जाएगा, और अदालत की छुट्टियों से पहले तत्काल सुनवाई की दलीलों को खारिज कर दिया। न्यायाधीश ने कहा कि छुट्टियों की अवधि समाप्त होने से पहले कुछ और नहीं किया जा सकता।
