The organisation seeks 27% reservation and a separate column for OBCs in the next population census, arguing it would help assess their social profile for policy framing. The shutdown was observed in Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, and Lohardaga districts. While protests disrupted traffic and normal life in parts of Khunti town, most of Ranchi city saw normal activity with shops and offices remaining open.
