Delhi women may soon need a 'Pink Saheli' smart card for free bus travel on DTC buses, replacing the current paper-based pink ticket system. The transport department plans to make the smart card mandatory from Friday, with a notification expected. Nearly 19 lakh cards have already been issued. An intensive awareness campaign will run for 10 days to ensure commuters get their cards without inconvenience. The government has set up 50 centres for card issuance, available to women and transgender residents aged five and above.
