An Afghan woman, Nazira Haji Zada, has been deported from the US after admitting in a special federal court that she was an "alien terrorist." The court, established in 1996, held its first hearing this year. Zada was accused of supporting her son and son-in-law in planning an Islamic State-inspired mass shooting for election day 2024. The attack never occurred, and the men were convicted.
