SRFTI Students Protest Alleged Campus Attack

Students from the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) protested at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala on Sunday. The demonstration was against an alleged attack on students on the SRFTI campus earlier that day. The SRFTI Students Union stated that issues arose when students questioned the institute's decision to allow an Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat event without informing them. The union alleged that ABGP members confronted students, leading to physical violence and verbal abuse, with protesters calling them 'anti-national'.

सत्यजीत रे फिल्म एंड टेलीविजन इंस्टीट्यूट (SRFTI) के छात्रों ने रविवार को केरल के इंटरनेशनल डॉक्यूमेंट्री एंड शॉर्ट फिल्म फेस्टिवल में विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। यह प्रदर्शन उसी दिन SRFTI कैंपस में छात्रों पर कथित हमले के खिलाफ था। SRFTI स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन ने कहा कि जब छात्रों ने उन्हें सूचित किए बिना अखिल भारतीय ग्राहक पंचायत कार्यक्रम की अनुमति देने के संस्थान के फैसले पर सवाल उठाया तो समस्याएं पैदा हुईं। यूनियन ने आरोप लगाया कि एबीजीपी के सदस्यों ने छात्रों का सामना किया, जिससे शारीरिक हिंसा और मौखिक दुर्व्यवहार हुआ, और प्रदर्शनकारियों ने उन्हें 'राष्ट्र-विरोधी' कहा।
