Asian Shares Mixed After Fed Rate Hike

Asian shares traded mixed on Thursday following a quarter-percentage-point interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve, its first in three years. The hike brings the Fed's key rate to a target range of 3.75-4.00% to combat US inflation. While US futures showed gains, markets like Japan's Nikkei and South Korea's Kospi rose, but Hong Kong and Shanghai indices fell. Wall Street's S&P 500 and Dow Jones closed lower on Wednesday.

गुरुवार को अमेरिकी फेडरल रिजर्व ने तीन साल में पहली बार ब्याज दरों में चौथाई फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी की। इससे फेड की मुख्य दर 3.75-4.00% के दायरे में आ गई है, जिसका मकसद अमेरिका में महंगाई से निपटना है। इस फैसले के बाद एशियाई शेयर बाजारों में मिला-जुला रुख रहा। जापान का Nikkei और दक्षिण कोरिया का Kospi चढ़ा, लेकिन हांगकांग और शंघाई के सूचकांक गिरे। बुधवार को वॉल स्ट्रीट के S&P 500 और Dow Jones भी नीचे बंद हुए थे।
