Christian Trust Seeks Role in Kerala Waqf Board Reconstitution Plea

Times of India · india

A Christian trust, Assembly of Christian Trust Services (ACTS), has applied to join a legal challenge against the Kerala government's reconstitution of the Waqf Board. ACTS argues that a previous petition it filed, questioning the board's composition without non-Muslim members as mandated by law, is still pending. The trust seeks to prevent conflicting court decisions and multiplicity of proceedings by being made a party to the current challenge. ACTS also proposed names of non-Muslim MPs and bar council members for consideration for board positions.
