The United Kingdom will deploy Eurofighter Typhoon jets to Saudi Arabia in a defensive capacity to help protect the kingdom from Houthi attacks. The Ministry of Defence stated the warplanes will conduct counter-air missions to safeguard Saudi cities and critical infrastructure against aerial threats. This military support also includes extending air-to-air refuelling assistance for Saudi operations. UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting condemned the Houthi attacks, particularly on Riyadh's airport, as despicable escalations. The deployment builds upon existing UK equipment and personnel already in the country.
