Mahinda Rajapaksa Urges Jailed Son Namal To Trust Sri Lanka's Judiciary

Former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has sent an emotional message to his son, Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody over alleged corruption and bribery charges. Namal's remand has been extended until November 6 in a case linked to an abandoned Indian hotel project. Mahinda recalled advising his son to be prepared for jail and hardship when he entered politics in 2010. He urged Namal to have faith in the judiciary, drawing on his own past experiences of imprisonment on baseless allegations.
