Chandigarh's power grid is undergoing a significant upgrade with a Rs 29-crore Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. This new system will provide the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) with real-time visibility of the entire network. It aims to enable quicker detection and response to faults, thereby enhancing grid security and improving power management. Currently, the SLDC relies heavily on manual coordination, leading to delays and potential errors in data compilation for grid monitoring and energy accounting.
