Pune Police Arrest Man Linked To Over 70 Chain-Snatching Cases

Pune police have arrested a 44-year-old man, identified as Rajabhau alias Raju Rathod, who is allegedly involved in over 70 chain-snatching incidents across Maharashtra. He was apprehended in Hadapsar following a chase after he snatched a gold chain worth over Rs 3 lakh from a 70-year-old woman in Aundh on October 20. Investigations revealed he purchased a new motorcycle in Pune to carry out these crimes. Police are examining CCTV footage and further investigating his involvement in other cases across the state.

पुणे पुलिस ने 44 साल के राजाभाऊ उर्फ राजू राठौड़ नाम के एक आदमी को गिरफ्तार किया है, जो कथित तौर पर महाराष्ट्र में 70 से ज़्यादा चेन स्नेचिंग की घटनाओं में शामिल है। उसे हडपसर में पकड़ा गया, जब उसने 20 अक्टूबर को औंध में 70 साल की एक महिला से 3 लाख रुपये से ज़्यादा की सोने की चेन छीन ली थी। जांच में पता चला कि उसने इन अपराधों को अंजाम देने के लिए पुणे में एक नई मोटरसाइकिल खरीदी थी। पुलिस सीसीटीवी फुटेज की जांच कर रही है और राज्य भर के अन्य मामलों में उसकी संलिप्तता की आगे जांच कर रही है।
