Speeding Bus Kills Young Woman on Pavement in Kottayam; Five Others Injured

A 19-year-old woman, Anjali Ajay, has died from injuries sustained when a speeding private bus veered onto a pavement in Kottayam on Friday evening. Five other women, including pedestrians and bus passengers, were also seriously injured in the accident. The bus was reportedly speeding when it mounted the pavement near a bus stop. Police have taken the driver and conductor into custody, and authorities are suspending the driver's license and the bus's fitness certificate.
