A painting bought for under $100 in 1966 has sold for £189,200 at auction. The artwork, "Interior: The Lady in Black," was purchased by retired art teacher Helene Plotkin in White Plains, New York. It remained in her family for nearly 60 years before her son began researching its origins in 2025. Advanced technology, including AI, helped decipher the artist's signature, identifying it as a work by Scottish artist FCB Cadell.
