FASTag Rules Revised for Persons with Disabilities, Validity Extended Based on Disability Percentage

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has revised FASTag rules for vehicles registered under the 'Divyangjan' category. Vehicles with 70-100% disability will receive a FASTag valid for five years, while those with 40-70% disability will get a three-year validity. This change aims to simplify toll procedures and promote ease of living for eligible beneficiaries. The extended validity of the exempted FASTag does not grant a blanket waiver from toll payments but reduces the need for annual renewal, subject to continued eligibility and toll-exemption rules.
