Vietnam has signed a free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), comprising Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. This deal, which concluded over a decade of negotiations that began in 2012, aims to reduce customs duties on industrial, fish, and agricultural products. The agreement covers trade in goods and services, intellectual property, and sustainable development. With a trade value of €4.8 billion last year, the pact is expected to help Vietnam diversify its markets and integrate deeper into global value chains.
