Padmini Kolhapuri and Poonam Dhillon Top CINTAA Poll Amid Election Dispute

Veteran actresses Padmini Kolhapuri and Poonam Dhillon secured the top positions in the CINTAA executive committee elections held on Tuesday, receiving 604 and 601 votes respectively. This election follows a disputed poll on September 12, conducted by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which was challenged by Padmini and Poonam's faction. They argued FWICE lacked the jurisdiction to conduct the election, asserting CINTAA should manage its own polls. Around 670 members voted in Tuesday's election, with the court's final verdict pending to determine the validity of both polls.

मंगलवार को हुए CINTAA एग्जीक्यूटिव कमेटी के चुनावों में दिग्गज अभिनेत्रियों पद्मिनी कोल्हापुरे और पूनम ढिल्लों ने टॉप पोजीशन हासिल कीं। पद्मिनी को 604 वोट मिले, जबकि पूनम को 601 वोट मिले। यह चुनाव 12 सितंबर को हुए विवादित चुनाव के बाद हुआ है, जिसे फेडरेशन ऑफ वेस्टर्न इंडिया सिने एम्प्लॉइज (FWICE) ने कराया था। पद्मिनी और पूनम के गुट ने इस पर आपत्ति जताई थी। उनका कहना था कि FWICE के पास चुनाव कराने का अधिकार नहीं है और CINTAA को अपने चुनाव खुद कराने चाहिए। मंगलवार के चुनाव में करीब 670 सदस्यों ने वोट डाला। दोनों चुनावों की वैधता तय करने के लिए कोर्ट का अंतिम फैसला अभी आना बाकी है।
