Times of India · sports

Farid Basharat has reportedly been released by the UFC despite an undefeated record of seven wins within the promotion. The 29-year-old bantamweight completed his contract with a decision win in July but was not offered a new deal. Basharat publicly expressed his desire for a new contract and a chance to face top opponents. His release comes as the UFC makes roster space for new prospects from Dana White's Contender Series, which recently signed a record number of fighters.
