UP Panchayat Election Order Challenged in Supreme Court by Village Head Organisation

The National Panchayat Raj Gram Pradhan Organisation plans to challenge the Allahabad High Court's order to conduct Uttar Pradesh Panchayat elections within three months in the Supreme Court. The organisation's national president, Dr. Akhilesh Singh, stated that holding elections in such a short timeframe is unfeasible due to pending processes like assessing backward class reservations and rectifying voter list discrepancies. He estimates elections may not occur before April 2027. The organisation argues that proceeding without completing these essential steps would violate Supreme Court directives.

राष्ट्रीय पंचायत राज ग्राम प्रधान संगठन, उत्तर प्रदेश पंचायत चुनाव तीन महीने के भीतर कराने के इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती देने की योजना बना रहा है। संगठन के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष, डॉ. अखिलेश सिंह ने कहा कि पिछड़े वर्ग के आरक्षण का आकलन करने और मतदाता सूची की विसंगतियों को दूर करने जैसी लंबित प्रक्रियाओं के कारण इतने कम समय में चुनाव कराना अव्यावहारिक है। उन्होंने अनुमान लगाया कि चुनाव अप्रैल 2027 से पहले नहीं हो सकते हैं। संगठन का तर्क है कि इन आवश्यक कदमों को पूरा किए बिना आगे बढ़ना सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्देशों का उल्लंघन होगा।
