Bombay High Court Orders Release of Anti-EC Protesters in Goa

The Bombay High Court in Goa held a special sitting on Sunday evening and ordered the immediate release of seven protesters detained during demonstrations. The protesters were held after they breached security at Panjim's Azad Maidan and waved the national flag. The court found their detention might not have been authorized, releasing them after an undertaking that they would not protest at the venue that night. The detainees, affiliated with the Cockroach Janta Party, were protesting alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions.

गोवा में बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने रविवार शाम एक विशेष सुनवाई में सात प्रदर्शनकारियों को तुरंत रिहा करने का आदेश दिया, जिन्हें प्रदर्शनों के दौरान हिरासत में लिया गया था। प्रदर्शनकारियों को पणजी के आजाद मैदान में सुरक्षा तोड़ने और राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराने के बाद हिरासत में लिया गया था। अदालत ने पाया कि उनकी हिरासत शायद अधिकृत नहीं थी, और उन्हें उस रात उस स्थान पर विरोध न करने के वचन पर रिहा कर दिया गया। कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी से जुड़े हिरासत में लिए गए लोगों ने चुनावी सूची संशोधनों में कथित अनियमितताओं के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन किया था।
