The Hindu · india

Supporters of Irinjalakuda legislator Thomas Unniyadan are organizing a public show of dissent in Thiruvananthapuram, escalating their revolt against the Kerala Congress leadership. This follows a previous meeting in Thrissur where leaders questioned the denial of a Cabinet-rank position to Unniyadan. Unniyadan stated his supporters feel he has been denied recognition commensurate with his contributions, citing his electoral record and past initiatives. The party leadership appears hesitant to escalate the dispute into a disciplinary matter, while similar meetings are planned in other districts.
