Charred Body of Woman Found Near Periyar Dam; Murder Suspected

The charred body of an unidentified woman was discovered near the lower Periyar dam in Idukki on Wednesday, raising suspicions of murder. Locals found the remains, estimated to be two days old, near an abandoned shop, with parts of a churidar also recovered. Preliminary examinations suggest the body was charred from the waist down. Police, including fingerprint experts and a dog squad, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The incident occurred within the Karimanal police station limits.
