Punjab Speaker Accepts Resignations of Two AAP MLAs, Declares Seats Vacant

Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has accepted the resignations of former AAP MLAs Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh. Their assembly seats have been declared vacant with effect from November 2, following their resignation submissions on November 1. The Speaker has also summoned Chetan Singh Jouramajra for a hearing on November 5 regarding a representation by AAP chief whip Baljinder Kaur. This action is taken under the anti-defection law, as Jouramajra reportedly joined another political party after resigning from the AAP but not the assembly.

पंजाब विधानसभा स्पीकर कुलतार सिंह संधवां ने पूर्व AAP विधायकों हरमीत सिंह पठानमजरा और कंवर विजय प्रताप सिंह के इस्तीफे स्वीकार कर लिए हैं। 1 नवंबर को इस्तीफा सौंपने के बाद 2 नवंबर से उनकी विधानसभा सीटों को खाली घोषित कर दिया गया है। स्पीकर ने AAP के मुख्य सचेतक बलजिंदर कौर की एक अर्जी पर सुनवाई के लिए चेतन सिंह जोरमाजरा को 5 नवंबर को तलब किया है। यह कार्रवाई दलबदल विरोधी कानून के तहत की गई है, क्योंकि जोरमाजरा ने कथित तौर पर AAP से इस्तीफा देने के बाद किसी अन्य राजनीतिक दल में शामिल हो गए थे, लेकिन विधानसभा से इस्तीफा नहीं दिया था।
