Elon Musk has rejoined former President Donald Trump's team to co-lead a Pentagon study focused on the future of warfare. Musk previously headed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he implemented significant job cuts across the US federal government. He departed from that role in May 2025. This collaboration suggests a renewed focus on leveraging private sector expertise for national security initiatives and strategic planning within the defense sector.
