FPIs Pull Out ₹52,100 Cr From Indian Equities in October
Business Standard · stocks
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have withdrawn ₹52,100 crore from Indian equities in October so far, driven by global headwinds like elevated crude oil prices, higher US bond yields, and a stronger dollar. This outflow follows a ₹35,861 crore withdrawal in September. The cumulative FPI outflow from Indian equities in 2026 has now reached ₹3.12 trillion. While investors briefly turned buyers on October 16, this is seen as a tactical shift rather than a structural one, with FPIs continuing to sell financial and oil stocks but buying consumer services.
