बढ़ते प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए दिल्ली में अब दूसरे राज्यों से केवल BS6 वाहन ही आ सकेंगे। इस फैसले से NCR क्षेत्र में आने वाले लाखों वाहनों पर असर पड़ेगा, हालांकि दोपहिया, CNG और इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों को छूट दी गई है। BS6 वाहन भी कुछ हद तक प्रदूषण फैलाते हैं, लेकिन उनकी एडवांस्ड टेक्नोलॉजी हानिकारक तत्वों को काफी कम कर देती है। DPF और SCR जैसी टेक्नोलॉजी एग्जॉस्ट गैस को साफ करती हैं, जिससे पुराने स्टैंडर्ड के मुकाबले पर्यावरण पर कम असर पड़ता है। इन वाहनों के ठीक से काम करने के लिए उनका सही रखरखाव बहुत ज़रूरी है।
