Uttarakhand Bus Services Disrupted Indefinitely As Employees Strike Over Demands

Public transport services across Uttarakhand were severely disrupted on Friday as the Uttaranchal Roadways Employees’ Union began an indefinite work boycott. Talks between the union and Uttarakhand Transport Corporation management broke down on Thursday evening, leading to the strike ahead of the Diwali festive season. The state government has intervened, with the transport minister convening a high-level meeting for Saturday to resolve the stalemate. Employees are demanding equal pay, job regularisation, and timely salary disbursements, among other issues.

शुक्रवार को पूरे उत्तराखंड में सार्वजनिक परिवहन सेवाएं बुरी तरह प्रभावित हुईं क्योंकि उत्तरांचल रोडवेज कर्मचारी यूनियन ने अनिश्चितकालीन कार्य बहिष्कार शुरू कर दिया। गुरुवार शाम को यूनियन और उत्तराखंड परिवहन निगम प्रबंधन के बीच बातचीत विफल हो गई, जिससे दिवाली के त्योहारी सीजन से पहले हड़ताल हो गई। राज्य सरकार ने हस्तक्षेप किया है, और परिवहन मंत्री ने गतिरोध को हल करने के लिए शनिवार को एक उच्च-स्तरीय बैठक बुलाई है। कर्मचारियों की मांग है कि अन्य मुद्दों के साथ-साथ समान वेतन, नौकरी नियमितीकरण और समय पर वेतन भुगतान किया जाए।
