NDTV · science

An Australian zoo has witnessed the rare laying of a bright green egg by a cassowary, a species native to dense rainforests. This marks the first time such an event has occurred at the zoo since 1992. Cassowaries, known for being large, flightless birds, are considered among the closest living relatives to dinosaurs. The unusual egg colour is a distinctive characteristic of this species, making its appearance a notable occurrence for the zoo and ornithologists alike.
