The Union government has granted site clearance for two new greenfield airports in Andhra Pradesh, one in Kuppam, Chittoor district, and another in Srikakulam. These projects aim to enhance regional connectivity and stimulate economic activity across the state. The Kuppam airport is estimated to cost ₹734 crore and is planned for public-private partnership bidding in 2026-27. The Srikakulam airport, costing ₹750 crore, will focus on cargo movement due to its proximity to the Mulapeta port.

केंद्र सरकार ने आंध्र प्रदेश में दो नए ग्रीनफील्ड हवाई अड्डों के लिए साइट क्लीयरेंस दे दी है। एक कुप्पम, चित्तूर जिले में और दूसरा श्रीकाकुलम में बनेगा। इन परियोजनाओं का मकसद राज्य भर में क्षेत्रीय कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ाना और आर्थिक गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देना है। कुप्पम हवाई अड्डे की अनुमानित लागत ₹734 करोड़ है और इसे 2026-27 में पब्लिक-प्राइवेट पार्टनरशिप बोली के लिए योजनाबद्ध किया गया है। ₹750 करोड़ की लागत वाले श्रीकाकुलम हवाई अड्डे पर मुलपेटा बंदरगाह से निकटता के कारण कार्गो मूवमेंट पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाएगा।
