9/11 Guard Who Saved Six Needs Kidney Transplant

A security guard, Dereck Lovell, who guided six people to safety from the burning World Trade Center's South Tower on September 11, 2001, is now battling kidney cancer. Lovell, then 68, was filling in on the 70th floor and used his flashlight and bullhorn to direct survivors towards a functioning staircase. He also helped three more employees escape before descending himself.
