Wrong national anthems were played three times at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, this week. This latest error occurred despite officials' pledges to prevent mistakes after a similar mishap during the Asian Games. Nagoya Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa apologised, calling the repeated errors "unacceptable." Incidents included playing the Iranian anthem for a Taiwanese winner and the Mongolian anthem for a Mongolian gold medalist. The South Korean anthem was also briefly played instead of the Chinese one.
