Yogi Govt Spent Thrice More on Farmers Than Previous SP, BSP Regimes: Minister

Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi claimed the Yogi government has spent Rs 69,163 crore on farmers, more than three times the combined expenditure of the previous Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav governments. He stated that the government waived loans worth Rs 36,000 crore for 86 lakh farmers in its first cabinet meeting in 2017. Shahi also highlighted the state's foodgrain production of 752 lakh metric tonnes last year and mentioned that farmers received Rs 6,125 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana since 2017-18.

उत्तर प्रदेश के कृषि मंत्री सूर्य प्रताप शाही ने दावा किया कि योगी सरकार ने किसानों पर ₹69,163 करोड़ खर्च किए हैं, जो पिछली मायावती और अखिलेश यादव सरकारों के संयुक्त खर्च से तीन गुना से ज़्यादा है। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने 2017 में अपनी पहली कैबिनेट बैठक में 86 लाख किसानों के लिए ₹36,000 करोड़ के ऋण माफ किए थे। शाही ने पिछले साल राज्य के 752 लाख मीट्रिक टन अनाज उत्पादन पर भी प्रकाश डाला और बताया कि 2017-18 से किसानों को प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना के तहत ₹6,125 करोड़ मिले हैं।
