China Tightens Travel Rules Over Tech Security

China has implemented new travel restrictions, including exit bans for citizens deemed to endanger national industrial or technological security. These rules, passed in July, specifically target violations of technology import and export regulations, particularly in artificial intelligence. Beijing states the measures are to safeguard national sovereignty and security interests. Foreign nationals could also face entry denial for up to five years for false visa statements.
