Thar Desert Gets 28km Artificial Lake

Rajasthan has constructed a 28 km artificial lake in the Thar Desert to supply water to 5 million people in Jaisalmer and Barmer. The lake will be lined with plastic to prevent evaporation, ensuring water availability during canal repairs. This significant project, set to open in July 2026, aims to address water scarcity in the arid region.

थार रेगिस्तान में बनी २८ किमी की कृत्रिम झील

राजस्थान ने थार रेगिस्तान में 28 किलोमीटर की एक कृत्रिम झील बनाई है। इससे जैसलमेर और बाड़मेर के 50 लाख लोगों को पानी मिलेगा। झील में प्लास्टिक की लाइनिंग होगी ताकि पानी उड़े नहीं, और नहरों की मरम्मत के दौरान भी पानी उपलब्ध रहेगा। यह बड़ा प्रोजेक्ट जुलाई 2026 में खुलेगा और इस सूखे इलाके में पानी की कमी दूर करेगा।
