Astronomers have confirmed the discovery of Elias 2-24 b, the youngest exoplanet ever found, with an age of less than a million years. This massive planet, located 450 light-years from Earth, orbits a young star and is between two and four times the mass of Jupiter. Its formation was inferred from a gap in the star's protoplanetary disk, observed in 2017.
