Hubballi-Dharwad to Segregate Waste Into Four Categories Under New Rules

Hubballi-Dharwad will now segregate household waste into four categories, including sanitary and hazardous waste, in compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules-2026. This expands beyond the previous wet and dry waste segregation. The municipal corporation plans to retrofit its 336 auto tippers with additional bins to accommodate the new system. This change is mandatory and aims to improve waste management practices by ensuring separate collection of items like diapers, clothes, batteries, and medical waste. The new rules came into effect on April 1, 2026.

ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन नियम-2026 के अनुपालन में, हुबली-धारवाड़ अब घरेलू कचरे को चार श्रेणियों में अलग करेगा, जिसमें सैनिटरी और खतरनाक कचरा भी शामिल है। यह पहले के गीले और सूखे कचरे के अलगाव से आगे बढ़ता है। नगर निगम नई प्रणाली को समायोजित करने के लिए अपने 336 ऑटो टिपर्स को अतिरिक्त डिब्बे लगाने की योजना बना रहा है। यह बदलाव अनिवार्य है और डायपर, कपड़े, बैटरी और चिकित्सा कचरे जैसी वस्तुओं के अलग संग्रह को सुनिश्चित करके कचरा प्रबंधन प्रथाओं में सुधार करना है। नए नियम 1 अप्रैल, 2026 से लागू हुए।
