Bulgaria Receives Remains of Medieval Ruler Czar Samuel From Greece

The remains of Czar Samuel, a significant medieval ruler of the Bulgarian Empire and a symbol of national identity, have been returned to Bulgaria by Greece after decades of negotiations. Samuel ruled from 997 to 1014, extending his influence across the Balkans. His remains, discovered in a Greek border area 60 years ago, were received with full state honors in Sofia. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated that Czar Samuel, who once divided, now unites the two nations, strengthening their cooperation.
