BJD Sends 15-Member Team to Kotia Amid Andhra Panchayat Poll Row

The BJD has announced it will send a 15-member delegation to the disputed Kotia region on Friday. This move comes amid political tension following Andhra Pradesh's decision to hold panchayat elections in three villages within the area. Both Odisha and Andhra Pradesh claim rights over 21 of the 28 villages in Kotia. The delegation will interact with residents, visit border villages, and consult district officials before reporting back to BJD president Naveen Patnaik.

बीजेडी ने घोषणा की है कि वह शुक्रवार को विवादित कोटिया क्षेत्र में 15 सदस्यीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल भेजेगी। यह कदम आंध्र प्रदेश द्वारा इस क्षेत्र के तीन गांवों में पंचायत चुनाव कराने के फैसले के बाद राजनीतिक तनाव के बीच आया है। ओडिशा और आंध्र प्रदेश दोनों ही कोटिया के 28 गांवों में से 21 पर अपना दावा करते हैं। यह प्रतिनिधिमंडल बीजेडी अध्यक्ष नवीन पटनायक को रिपोर्ट करने से पहले निवासियों से बातचीत करेगा, सीमावर्ती गांवों का दौरा करेगा और जिला अधिकारियों से परामर्श करेगा।
