The Congress party has demanded an immediate halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, terming the process "unconstitutional." Party leader Jairam Ramesh highlighted reports of at least 100 voters in Delhi's Okhla constituency being wrongly classified as absent or shifted during the revision. He stated that over 9 crore voters have been deleted nationwide under similar categories. The party insists that all illegitimately deleted voters must be restored to the electoral rolls, questioning the Election Commission's damage control measures.
