BCCI Hikes Umpire Pay, Introduces Merit System

The BCCI has significantly increased daily pay for umpires and match referees, revising their fee structure after nearly a decade. A new promotion-relegation system based on merit has also been introduced. Umpires will now be assessed by an "umpires board" and assignments will be based on their performance. Those performing well will be upgraded, while underperformers may be downgraded, aiming to enhance alertness and competence on the field.

बीसीसीआई ने अंपायरों और मैच रेफरी का दैनिक वेतन काफी बढ़ा दिया है। लगभग दस साल बाद उनकी फीस में यह बदलाव हुआ है। अब मेरिट के आधार पर प्रमोशन-रेलिगेशन सिस्टम भी शुरू किया गया है। अंपायरों का मूल्यांकन "अंपायर्स बोर्ड" करेगा और उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर ही उन्हें मैच मिलेंगे। अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने वालों को ऊपर बढ़ाया जाएगा, जबकि खराब प्रदर्शन वालों को नीचे किया जा सकता है। इसका मकसद मैदान पर उनकी सतर्कता और काबिलियत बढ़ाना है।
