A gas pipeline explosion in Syria has caused a large fire and taken three power plants offline, according to state media. The Deir Ali, al-Nasiriyah, and Tishreen power plants are now out of service due to insufficient gas supplies following the blast in Eastern Ghouta. This shutdown will lead to increased power rationing hours for citizens amid dwindling electricity. Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, which follows two previous blasts in the gas network attributed to sabotage in recent weeks.
