Tamil Nadu Power Utility to Hire 8,000 Field Assistants Amid 36,000 Vacancies

TNPDCL will recruit 8,000 field assistants over the next two years to address a significant manpower shortage. This recruitment drive aims to improve the resolution of power outage complaints. The government has issued a fresh order for the hiring, with 5,000 positions to be filled in 2027 and 3,000 in 2028. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will conduct the exams for eligible ITI completers, who will receive a starting salary of ₹35,548.
