A bench expressed deep anguish over a 16-year-old girl's alleged gangrape on a moving bus and another case where a minor was raped and murdered. The court emphasized that the breakdown of law and order is unacceptable and accountability of officials will be fixed. Public spaces like parks and buses must not become high-risk zones due to lack of safety measures.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दिल्ली-एनसीआर में नाबालिगों के साथ हाल ही में हुई भयानक रेप की घटनाओं का स्वतः संज्ञान लिया है, जिसकी तुलना 2012 के निर्भया मामले से की जा रही है। एक बेंच ने चलती बस में 16 साल की लड़की के कथित गैंगरेप और एक अन्य नाबालिग के रेप और हत्या के मामले पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया। अदालत ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि कानून व्यवस्था का टूटना अस्वीकार्य है और अधिकारियों की जवाबदेही तय की जाएगी। सुरक्षा उपायों की कमी के कारण पार्क और बस जैसे सार्वजनिक स्थान उच्च जोखिम वाले क्षेत्र नहीं बनने चाहिए।
